Copyright is the exclusive and assignable legal right, given to the originator for a fixed number of years, to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical material. It is important especially to artists and musicians as they need to protect their work from being copied without their permission. Because of copyright, there may be problems with me trying to find a song that I might enjoy, this is because there are certain laws stopping me from using the song, as I would have to ask for permission from a lot of people involved with the artist and this takes a very long time. Therefore with my project i have to use a non copyright song to prevent time wasting and to avoid being persecuted for copyright claims.
Taylor Swift ft Ed Sheeran - Everything has changed is my favourite music video. This is because not only does the name of the song reflect the video, but also the lyrics of the song paints a picture of exactly what the video shows. This is what makes the video relatable and helps market the song.
The artists normally produce pop music, with lyrics that people can relate to and this is what they have done here. Therefore because of the way that they have marketed their music video's these artists are popular together and apart. This music video effectively conveys the mood set by the song itself. Its subtle, calm and reflecting.
For this coursework, I will be producing a music 'promo' video that will be at least 5minutes long. I will have the choice of either working on my own or in a group of up to 4 members. I will also need to produce a 'digipak' (six panels) for its release on CD and a magazine advertisement for the digipak. And in addition to my 'promo' video I will be producing a critical evaluation.
